MargBaldy, why won't they be available anymore...endangered? Is there a common name for them? They are beautiful. It reminds me of Spring. Oh, a couple more weeks and Spring will be here for us!

Big Red - Spring has hibernated here in UK. RAIN and more rain and high, high winds.

Big Red, I think it could be banned because it is seen as a weed in some places. I'm not sure if it has to be declared a noxious weed for that to happen. I love them. Country houses often have a border of agapanthus up their driveways.

It's my flower! Sorry I submitted before I put my name on it! Glad you like it. It is very beautiful. I cut all the flower stems off before the seed pods open, that way they can't spread by seed. Each one of those flowers becomes a seed pod with hundreds (maybe thousands of little seed!) so they More...

Kate we have one like that its called purple loose strife (believe thats the spelling). Its pretty but it kills all the other vegitation by crowding it out.

These also have a purpley blue colour which is more common than the white one Cheryl, and they are often used for roadside plantings. Sadly not everyone is as careful as Kate, and they get away into the bush.

We have blue ones, called Lily of the Nile. They don't multiply so rapidly in places I've lived.

Such a lovely flower -- I can almost smell it. In the southern US we have a vine called kudzu. Very pretty but grows about a foot a day. Ay, yi yi!
