Looks like a wild rose to me? They can be as pretty as one that is not wild... Anyone else know for sure... Its very pretty Ian thanks for the sunny wake-up.

This looks like Hypericum (or St John's Wort). Very many varieties but I think this particular one is known as Rose of Sharon (hence it looks like a wild rose).

Not too sure this is Rose of Sharon. Isn't their stamen filament long and fluffy looking?

The only wild roses I know are similar in shape, but vary from almost white w/pale pink trim to solid dark pink. Once again, I've learned something!

My answer would have been "a beautiful yellow one." Now I've learned that it's a St. John's Wort, a familiar term but I'd never seen the flower. Wonderful photo, Ian.

It was photographed in an English garden and I have no idea what it is - but a pretty one though.

Hypericum Calcynum Aaronsbeard St. Johnswort. Flowers July-Sept. An aggressive ground cover that bumblebees like. :)
